Have you ever noticed when some people smile for a picture they keep their mouth shut. Many are very self-conscious over their smile and often try to hide it. Some people have naturally a beautiful smile. They have straight and pearly white teeth. Others have crooked, jagged and yellow teeth.
Some get braces while others can’t afford it. However, in the last few years it has become popular to whiten teeth. Teeth whitening can raise self-esteem and build confidence. There are strips and gels that people use. If whitening your teeth makes you feel better about your smile talk to a dentist or just go to a near by store and get some of the new things. Some products are naturally more expensive than others. All I know is feeling confident about your smile is important. Next time you take a picture be proud of those teeth and smile big for the camera.

Rush Limbaugh has had a hard week, because of his “phony soldiers” remark made last week. Someone caught the phrase and Media Matters for America posted it. Limbaugh is being accused of saying that the soldiers who don’t support the Iraq War are phony soldiers.
Although, he claims he did not mean it as offensive, and that he was only talking about one soldier, let’s say he did mean the phrase to be demeaning to soldiers who don’t support the Iraq War. Do you think that this could affect the self-esteem of those soldiers he was referring too?
I think it very well can. I don’t think that anyone should feel comfortable saying that a soldier is not a REAL soldier unless they support the Iraq War. Those soldiers signed up, and are willing to risk their lives for you and me. If they don’t support the Iraq War that is fine, lots of people don’t support it. This is the United States, and everyone is allowed to have his or her own opinion. Saying a soldier is phony is an insult to a soldier’s career, his family and his dignity. If you are a soldier I consider you brave, whether you support the war in Iraq or not.
It is comments like Limbaugh said that can change how a person feels about himself or herself. We need to be careful with what we say. The words we use are powerful. So the thought for the day is: We should not belittle others who do not think exactly as we do.

“At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.”
-Friedrich Wilhem Nietzsche
I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on this quote. Everyone is unique in some way. Each person has a special talent, a different look, or a different personality. You are the only you in this world. There is no clone of you. You are a special person to this world because you help to make the world diverse. Find the unique qualities about yourself and embrace and grow them. After all, you are only on earth once.
